Hot/Cold Therapy:
Heat can cause an area to relax in preparation for an adjustment. Heat may also be used for varying periods of time to create inflammation which can help to heal old injuries.
Cold therapy is used to stop acute inflammation following an injury. It should never be used more than 20 minutes and at least 2 hours off without the direction of a healthcare professional.
The Picture shows hot packs being used to prep patients prior to a treatment in the office.
